Job Summary The medical interpreter is responsible for relaying accurate medical information and facilitating the successful delivery of patient services to diverse language segments in compliance with all office, clinic and hospital policies and procedures, particularly relating to patient confidentiality and informed consent. Responsible for written translations required in patient encounters including, but not limited to, forms, care instructions, medication schedules, patient letters, or other identified documents and patient materials. Work with special projects as assigned. Education and/or Experience Degree in any area related to health science required; College level interpreter training preferred Experience in a healthcare setting as a medical interpreter with strong medical vocabulary preferred Proof of English/Spanish fluency, both oral and written, through certified accredited institution or to be established by passing interpreters skills test administered through Avera required. Individuals are required to pass a medical terminology test. Pay The hourly range for this position is listed below.
