We are a leader in the development, manufacture, and distribution of rapid diagnostic tests, sample collection and stabilization devices, and molecular services solutions designed to discover and detect critical medical conditions around the world.How You Will Make an ImpactYou will support and optimize the manufacturing and packaging of disposable diagnostic devices, including all production equipment maintenance. You will manage projects, which may include new equipment, process improvements, and cost reductions.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport production operations by trouble shooting and repairing automated assembly & packaging equipment and vial filling in conjunction with the Maintenance team. Investigate manufacturing yield or product nonconformance issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions.Develop and revise manufacturing process documentation including material specifications, component and assembly drawings, and work instructions.Improve existing manufacturing processes and equipment to increase yield and reduce labor by specifying or designing the change, determining the return on investment, and implementing the change including commissioning and validation. Establish methods for collecting Production data, analyze processing statistics, and determine course of action using data to promote value-added initiative impacting safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery.Support new product development from concept through launch by specifying, designing, and implementing manufacturing cells.Implement lean manufacturing and process control techniques to support business goals.Maintain compliance with all GMP and OraSure Quality System requirements. Qualifications5 Years of Experience in an automated manufacturing environment. Experience with designing or specifying, purchasing, commissioning, and debugging assembly & packaging equipment and vial filling.Experience developing and driving continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.Ability to independently interpret machine manuals, electrical schematics, mechanical design drawings, and ladder logic/machine controls.Experience troubleshooting automated assembly & packaging equipment and vial filling including but not limited to: robots, vision system, HMIs, and PLCs.Design and fabrication experience is a plus.Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including previous experience with Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, and root cause analysis.Excellent communication skills, written and oral.Experience with SolidWorks is necessary.Able to work effectively in a cross-functional team.Education and/or ExperienceB.S. or M.S. degree in Engineering 8+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience OraSure and its subsidiaries is committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all.
