Based in the North Tonawanda, New York area, this opening for a Controller is a permanent position. Planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff will be essential for this role. This role''s duties will require effectively managing self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, leading while also being a team player, generating innovative ideas, and challenging the status quo. If your ideal job offers you exceptional compensation and benefits and potential for career growth, this is a good fit!Major responsibilities- Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports- Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management- Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations- Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed- Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques- Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis- Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies- Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties- Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll- Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis- Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
