Van Driver

An employee in this class is responsible for the transportation of participants who utilize WNCSource programs like medical, employment, meal-site, and shopping, as well as other inter-agency programs as assigned. Work is performed under direct supervision. We are a private not-for-profit organization providing many life changing sources under one umbrella, serving thousands of people who strive to improve their self-reliance.High School Diploma/GEDMust possess valid North Carolina driver''s license Minimum of 2 years driving experienceSkilled in safe driving habits and operation of multi-purpose vehiclesWorking knowledge of two-way radio systemsAbility to maintain effective working relationships with other employees, and with staff of local resource agencies Must be able to read and write, complete inspection, mileage and time sheetMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds, secure wheelchairs, and aid passengers as neededMust have basic computer knowledge and skillsMust possess valid North Carolina driver''s license Must participate in WNCSource Drug Testing Program (pre-employment, random, post accident, reasonable suspicion)Criminal background check Must pass the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical, pre-employment drug screen agency background and Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) license check.Must be willing to adapt work hours to meet needs of programsThere is no travel or weekend work in this position.
