The Operations Manager will support and oversee activities for two business trade association clients. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and proven experience working with volunteer-governed organizations. Success will depend on quickly understanding the client''s established business processes and strategic priorities. Reporting to the client''s Executive Director, we seek a highly skilled professional in successfully navigating a fast-paced service organization working with client team members, volunteers, and outside contractors.Primary responsibilitiesSupport the Executive Director with Board of Directors meeting preparation, briefing materials, priority-setting, and completion of action itemsSupport volunteer committees with meeting preparation, briefing materials, priority-setting, and completion of action itemsWork with the Executive Director and Financial Management staff to support the annual budgeting, monthly reporting and regular forecasting processesManage association membership recruitment and retention efforts; including overseeing the association management databaseCoordinate client team support for association meetings, conferences and virtual eventsSupervise operations coordinators and associates in support the delivery of association services and programsQualificationsHighly professional, ethical, mission-oriented with the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a deadline-driven environmentExperience with a nonprofit membership organizationAble to protect confidential information and maintain a sense of discretionKnown for exhibiting finance acumen and an accountability for accuracyAn effective verbal and written communicatorHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks to maximize time managementAble to build team cohesion and track role clarity among team membersConfident in their use and oversight of technologyAble to create and executive project plans based on client programs and productsProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) and ZoomWhere Do You Fit?Whether you are just beginning your career or are a mid- or senior-level professional, working at Smithbucklin will offer you countless opportunities to develop transferrable skills, acquire meaningful knowledge and gain rich experiences at an accelerated pace.
