Signal Integrity Engineer

Job Title : Signal Integrity Design/Analysis Engineer Job Location: San Jose,CA/Irvine,CA / Houston,TX / IL /Harrisburg,PA/OpenFoxconn Interconnect Technology is seeking a Senior/Principal Signal Integrity Engineer at the R&D Department in US or Asia office sites to work with a high-speed interconnect development team. The engineer will use his/her advanced interconnect SI knowledge and experiences to generate the connector/cable/electrical device solutions for our customers. The development team is a dynamic group with highly skilled and innovative engineers. Our applications are primarily used in global customers to help them better address demands for higher bandwidth. The Engineer will be responsible for creating interconnect signal-integrity design concepts, conducting electromagnetic analysis as well as circuit simulation to verify the design SI performances, and designing high-speed SI test fixtures to validate the design. The ideal candidate will be driven and innovative to deliver next-generation Datacom market needs. Job Functions/Responsibilities:Develop SI design of the connector/cable products for high-speed data transmission from concepts to verification using simulation, and prototype validation with SI testsUnderstand customers'' applications and industry standards to define the product SI specifications and to accomplish product SI design for meeting SI spec requirementsWork with interconnect design team to conduct DFM review of the SI design to meet ME requirements and manufacturability with necessary fine-tuning to achieve the overall design goalsDesign the complete SI testing plan to validate the connector/cable design and evaluate the product performancesProvide the technical leadership to solve the SI challenging of the next generation productsWork with cross-functional teams and interfaces with external customers to ensure SI design objectives are met in a timely manner and assists them by providing technical adviceDevelop SI design BKM (best knowledge method) for ME engineers'' reference to speed up the high-speed development timeMay represent FIT to join Standards activity to support SI related spec definitionTravel to different BU sites and customers may be necessaryEducation, Skill, & ExperienceMS/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent working experience10+ years of high-speed interconnect SI design working experience, especially high-speed I/O and backplane connector/cable with data rate > 25Gbps.Familiar with the server and switch system architecture as well as the infrastructure of data centerStrong background and understanding ofEM and transmission-line theoryHands-on experiences in EM analysis, simulation, and circuit simulations and modeling using HFSS, SIwave or similar software toolsExperiences in the SI test plan design to validate the product SI design including the SI test fixture design.Have some measurement experiences using sampling oscilloscope, network analyzer or similar equipmentWorking knowledge of analog and digital circuits and some hands-on experience with schematic generating and PCB layout design. Altium or Allegro tool is a plus.Familiar with SI related Standards in Data Center Industry and experience to define the SI requirementsSome CAD experience in 2D drawing and 3D modeling and SolidWorks experience is a plusSome knowledge of ME performance as well as manufacturing process, and DFM experience to work with team for DFM reviewStrong problem analysis and solving skillsFlexible to switch between projects to support program needsMust be self-motivated, self-disciplined, and think strategically to work with minimal supervision and utilize knowledge & judgment to accomplish goals within the framework of a dynamic team-oriented environment.
