RN2 - Med/Surg Unit A4 PRN

Come join our NEW TEAM NURSING MEDICAL SURGICAL UNIT! This unit will utilize a team-based nursing practice model to allow both RN''s and LPN''s to work closely together, along with Patient Care Technician''s, to provide the best care to our patients. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are engaged in providing patient centered, quality care. Candidates must be team oriented and have great communication skills. We are looking for individuals who are invested in the success of the unit and are engaged in process improvement. The RN2 provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in Medical Surgical nursing, through the Team Nursing Model.Reports to: Director Med/Surg B2 & A4Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.Documents patient care given.Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.Performs patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in other nursing units as necessary.Performs within a TEAMS-based Nursing Practice/Care Delivery model and appropriately delegates non-RN functions to LPN and Patient Care Technician staff in accordance with A4 Patient Care Technician & LPN job descriptions.Performs POC Testing, EKGs, Phlebotomy and IV starts, as needed.Minimum Education Associates degree in Nursing or RN Diploma RequiredMinimum Education Bachelors degree in Nursing PreferredRequired Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
