Overview SEG, an Axient company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to fill a vacancy in the Modeling and Simulation Development Branch in either Columbia, MD or Mt. Laurel, NJ. SEG is an industry leader in the development of high fidelity radar simulation systems. SEG is constantly producing new products as well in improving the performance of existing products. SEG is looking for a top-flight senior engineer who can quickly grasp architectures and develop new ones while learning and utilizing the latest technologies. This candidate must be a proven team leader who can guide and mentor young talent throughout the entire software development process, from design and implementation to testing, documentation and delivery. This position will support the SEG group which is responsible for developing software code to support modeling and simulations and contribute to software architecture strategies. Responsibilities are the following: * Assist in the design, development, test, and verification of SEG/Axient''s missile trajectory and RF signature prediction simulations * The position covers the whole of the software development process, from design and implementation to testing, documentation and delivery * Lead team(s) on individual projects and provide assistance to junior level engineers * Provide C++ software development and maintenance with software integration testing * Participate in Agile style development ceremonies such as Daily Standups, Sprint Planning and Sprint Reviews * Quickly adapt to new technologies and skill as required. Qualifications Required Skills: * Security Clearance: Eligible to obtain Secret, active clearance * Minimum Education: Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar Engineering discipline * 10 or more years of experience * Demonstrated ability to assume leadership roles on project tasks * Experience in modeling and simulations architecture and development * Experience with all phases of software QA including unit, acceptance, regression and cross-platform testing * Development experience with IDEs (Visual Studio, NetBeans, Eclipse), debuggers and performance tools * Knowledge or experience in multi-threading (POSIX, OpenMP, MPI), SSE or GPU programming * Experience with version-control software (CVS, Subversion, Git) and configuration management tools (Jira, Bugzilla) * Experience working within an Agile development team Desired Skills: * Familiarity with MATLAB scripting and Simulink * Experience with scripting languages (Perl, Python, BASH) * Experience with FPGAs * Experience working on Navy or Defense Department projects Must meet applicable COVID safety requirements and protocols Applicants for positions which require a US government security clearance or access must meet eligibility requirements to include US citizenship.
