Our hotel features: 220 contemporary guest rooms, a 4,000 SF state of the art fitness center, as well as 3,500 SF of meeting space on the 18th floor, including an outdoor terrace with views of downtown DC. Our restaurant, Corella Cafe and Lounge, is located on the ground floor with an expansive sidewalk cafe.OTO provides competitive pay and benefit programs, including medical insurance options, dental and vison insurance, 401k with company match, company provided life insurance, tuition assistance, paid time off, paid holiday time, travel discounts, and more.OTO Development is pleased to announce a wonderful opportunity for an Assistant General Manager.What will you be doing most days?Participate in sales calls and site visits with members of the sales team to acquire new business or close on businessReview financial reports and statements and work to determine areas of concern and improve performanceCoach and support hotel team members to effectively manage wages and controllable expensesManage costs within the hotel, including supplies, labor, utilities, food, and beverage expenses to within budgeted parametersEnsure service, technical skills, and other training occurs throughout the propertyEstablish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with direct reports and entire teamEstablish a presence with team members on property and actively solicits team member feedback and utilize an ''open door'' policyHire team members who demonstrate strong functional expertise, creativity, and leadershipObserve service behaviors of team members and provides feedback to individuals and/or supervisors.Review comment cards, guest survey results, and other data to identify areas of improvement with team membersAnalyze service issues and identifies trends while facilitating the development of creative solutions to overcome obstaclesInterface with customers on a regular basis to obtain feedback on the quality of product, service levels, and overall satisfactionEnsure that building is well maintained and that operational areas have an atmosphere that meets or exceeds guest expectationsEnsure policies are administered fairly and consistently and that each team member''s performance is evaluated and recognized where appropriateWork to ensure property meets franchise standards and is a safe and secure facility for guests and team membersWhat are the requirements for this position?You have previous hotel management experience with a proven success in leadership of teams and guest service resultsYou have prior experience with direct sales efforts producing at least 50% market mix of total revenues and overall strong financial knowledgeYou have a least a high school diploma with a college degree preferredYou have a valid driver''s license from the appropriate stateYou have exceptional time management and multitasking skillsYou have a customer focus and consistently strive to deliver optimal employee and customer satisfaction for the hotelPhysical Requirements for this PositionYou must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time as the job dictates.Travel Requirements This position requires up to 10% travel.
