No Duties and Responsibilities Loyola University Chicago ( LUC ) invites applications for the Project Manager position. The Project Manager is a full-time, in-person, year-round position that will report to the Assistant Vice President for Campus Planning. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of medium-sized and smaller-sized capital construction projects as well as collaborating with other PMs/Sr. PMs on larger projects.Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for capital project management, leading management for small to medium sized projects, and collaborating with other facilities staff on larger projects. Works largely autonomously as the University representative on projects, representing the needs of the University with a diverse set of end users, designers, consultants, vendors, contractors, officials, etc. Simultaneously manages multiple mid-sized and smaller projects. Works with supervisor, administration, and building users throughout the planning phase of projects, performing cost analyses, supporting the establishment of contracts with consultants and vendors, diversity goal setting, facilitating communication between all parties involved, and documenting and maintaining all project records and communications. Supports the planning and design process through analysis utilizing professional experience in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry. Schedules and manages all stages of the design process with both LUC personnel [HK1] and architects and other relevant design consultants. Monitors the process of design and decision-making, review of schedule, program and cost implications as well as ensuring that decisions are aligned with University-wide standards or goals. Manages construction bidding and pricing processes responding to requests for information to all bidders for consistent distribution of information and University goals[HK2] . Performs analysis of contractor bids and pricing for capital projects. Coordinates, reviews and oversees contracting for construction and materials/equipment procurement. Participates in progress pricing meetings, and facilitates value engineering discussions. Prepares budget submittals for the capital projects, tracks project expenditures, analyzes all invoicing for consistency with contract and work in place, performs constant monitoring and updating of budget status for projects.Serves as primary project liaison and manager for assigned capital projects. Ensures performance of contractors, consultants, etc. through constant comparison of work to contractual obligation. Identifies potential cost-saving opportunities throughout the construction process as well as appropriate additional work that is in the best interest of the University. Negotiates change orders with contractors, monitors implications with project schedule and performs final acceptance inspections. Prepares and processes all required forms and documentation required to close out projects both fiscally and physically.Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Bachelors degree in related field and five years of related experience.Qualifications Required: Bachelor degree in A/E/C area 5 years minimum managing building capital projects Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving skills Ability to use AutoCAD, project management and scheduling softwarePreferred: Masters degree in A/E/C area; project management certificate; LEED -AP or building efficiency-related certification Licensed Architect in State of Illinois but not required Experience in higher education projectsCertificates/Credentials/Licenses Required: Bachelor degree in A/E/C area 5 years minimum managing building capital projects Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving skills Ability to use AutoCAD, project management and scheduling softwarePreferred: Masters degree in A/E/C area; project management certificate; LEED -AP or building efficiency-related certification Licensed Architect in State of Illinois but not required Experience in higher education projectsComputer Skills Proficient in Microsoft OfficeAbility to use AutoCAD, project management and scheduling softwareSupervisory Responsibilities No Required operation of university owned vehicles No Does this position require direct animal or patient contact?
