THOR Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Manager to support several Navy, DoD, and Government customers, conducting systems engineering and integration for multiple platforms (ship, submarine, craft, vehicle) and modular mission or flexible payload systems that require expertise in the fields of HM&E Open System Architecture (OSA) development. The candidate''s responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing or supporting the following actions: * HM&E Open System Architecture (OSA) Development Support including performing conceptual studies for platform modular open systems, system engineering efforts associated with the OSA development process, and conduct HM&E platform and mission system integration impact studies.* Requirements Traceability Support identifying and tracking requirements for HM&E OSA applications to platform acquisitions program offices. * Maintain OSA requirement baselines, attend CCB meetings, and develop appropriate changes to OSA baselines.* HM&E Architecture Verification and Validation expertise to conduct the necessary quality assurance on OSA implementations.* Program Management Support to the Government in support of acquisition programs, major R&D programs, and Technical Warrant Holders as assigned.* Prepare technical reports in support of major DoD acquisition milestones.* Perform Risk Management Assessments of the implementation of the Open System Architecture on the various platforms and module system design.Citizenship Requirements: * Due to the requirements of the federal contract that this position supports, U.S. citizenship is required. Citizenship will be confirmed via I-9/E-Verify at the start of employment.Security Clearance Requirements: * Must already possess a SECRET security clearance, and maintain it for the duration of employment.Required Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: * Bachelor''s degree in one of the following Engineering disciplines: Aerospace, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture.* Fifteen (15) years of recent, relevant experience in planning, directing, and coordinating engineering programs for the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Military Sealift Command. This experience should include some or all of the following:* Organizing, managing, and executing activities that pertain to Navy platform and subsystem development programs, with relevant applications of HM&E open systems architecture;* Formulating programs, developing budgets and schedules, and coordinating efforts for multiple tasks;* Effectively acting as liaison with government and contractor management;* Understanding DoD requirements, policies, and procedures related to R&D programs;* A minimum of five (5) years in Navy platform design activities; including the preparation of engineering calculations; platform design studies, and development of cost estimates.* Proficient with office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.* Strong written and verbal communications skills.Travel Requirements: * Approximately 10% or less travel is anticipated for this position.Typical Physical Activity: * This position''s essential functions typically include (but are not limited to): typing, hearing, sitting, standing, talking, and vision.THOR Solutions, LLC is proud to be an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
