The Olympic Club is searching for an experienced Station Cook for our City Clubhouse in downtown San Francisco. Our City Clubhouse has three food and beverage outlets; a formal Dining Room, a busy sports bar/restaurant and a ''grab and go'' style Cafe. We also host banquets and catering events throughout the year for our membership including weddings, crab feeds, holiday brunches, winemaker dinners, Chef Tastings, etc.Our Station Cooks are members of Local 2. Scheduling is by position seniority with shifts assigned based on operational needs. Candidates must have availability to work flexible schedules including day times, evenings, weekends and holidays.Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Under the general guidance of the Executive Chef, check and set-up menu items and replace as necessary, prepare buffet items as needed, prepare and cook menu items, and perform banquet preparation and other duties. Assist in the preparation of cold entrees, salads, appetizers, etc. Prepare foods, such as washing and peeling fruits and vegetables, cutting, chopping and similar duties. Maintains sanitation and safety standards at all times in work areas and during food handling, production, and storage. Check the food temperatures prior to food being served and during the course of service. Based on the number of shifts worked, full coverage healthcare is available to employees and their dependents.Candidate requirements include:Culinary degree or certificateSafeServe certified or possess a CA State Food Handlers card1 year experience working in a fast paced kitchen in a Hotel, Club or busy RestaurantExcellent safety and sanitation skillsEnglish business/kitchen communication skills requiredMust have a flexible schedule and be able to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and terviews are by scheduled appointment only.
