The Clinical Nurse Specialist practices as an expert in the application of the nursing process and theory within a specialty area. The primary responsibility of the Clinical Nurse Specialist is to advance patient care directly in the role of expert clinical practitioner and indirectly in the roles of educator, consultant, researcher, change agent, collaborator, clinical leader, role model, and patient advocate. The Johns Hopkins Hospital Weinberg 5Cis a16-bed adult intensive care unit and Weinberg 5D is a 15-bed acute care unit. These units care for patients with hematological malignancies who are receiving bone marrow transplants, critically ill oncology patients, and patients with solid tumor diagnosis. Our hematologic malignancy and hematology patients have access to some of the most innovative and advanced therapies in the world. Because Kimmel Cancer Center research scientists and clinicians closely work together, new drugs and treatments developed in the research laboratory are quickly transferred to the clinical setting, offering patients improved therapeutic options and the chance to participate in innovative clinical trials. . All of these services are located at our East Baltimore Campus as part of our NCI-designated Sydney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. Shifts: 8 hour day shifts Qualifications : Master''s degree in a CNS track from an accredited school of nursing Active Maryland or Compact RN license Current designation as an APRN from the Maryland BON BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network 3+ years of full time experience in area of specialty-Oncology Johns Hopkins Health System requires all employees be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.
