OPPORTUNITYHARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER - Outpatient Musculoskeletal PT Programs has an outstanding opportunity for a FULL-TIME (40 HOURS/WEEK), day shift, PHYSICAL THERAPIST 2.WHAT WILL YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE? Under general supervision, assess, plan, administer, evaluate and provide safe physical therapy care in the HMC Outpatient PT clinic or Emergency Dept PT program. This will include progression of treatment goals and patient and family education. The PT2 will assess and treat a patient caseload ranging from routine to complex patient problems and situations. Collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate to coordinate continuity of patient care from admission to discharge. Implement treatment programs, which include the use of physical agents, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and functional training.RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Demonstrates working knowledge of the disease process, precautions, typical medical treatment and diagnostic procedures, functional, abilities, complications and implications of long term deficits related to primary diagnoses treated in service area.2. Provides skilled, timely and effective patient care.3. Follows protocols, standards and guidelines of care relating to specific diagnosis on assigned service.4. Plans treatment programs with the patient and treatment team.5. Documents intervention and strategies for treatment in required organizational systems. Documentation is to include assessment, measurable criteria, goals method of treatment, home programs and adapting plan according to patient''s response to intervention.6. Participates in team rounds and other educational information to patient and support systems prior to termination of therapy intervention.7. Provide home programs and other educational information to patient and support systems prior to termination of therapy intervention.8. Knowledge of the role of other treatment team members and effective in collaborating to enhance patient''s care.9. Coordinate patient care programs with treatment team to facilitate and enhance functional outcomes.10. Follows billing and reimbursement procedures.11. Complies with agency and division standards, protocols procedures12. Participates in discipline and workgroup meetings.13. Participates in Quality Assurance as it relates to patient care14. Articulates and integrates safety policies and procedures into daily practice.15. Assists in student supervision as assigned by supervisor.Workgroup Specific Criteria Outpatient Musculoskeletal Clinic:- Demonstrates competence completing musculoskeletal assessments according to clinic standards for the: Spine, SI Complex, Shoulder, Hip, Knee, Ankle and Foot.- Understands the principles of joint mobilization using graded accessory and physiological movements.- Demonstrates skill in applying joint mobilization principles in peripheral joints and the spine.- Utilizes modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, mechanical traction and surface biofeedback appropriately.- Analyzes movement patterns of spine and peripheral joints. Identifies abnormal movement patterns and addresses in treatment plan via exercise, education, and/or manual therapy.- Works effectively with PTA. Assigns appropriate patients, supervises treatment plan, provides PTA with necessary information.WHAT''S NEEDED?- A Bachelor''s degree from a recognized school of physical therapy, or completion of a Physical Therapy program and one year relevant experience.OR- Equivalent education/experienceLEGAL REQUIREMENTS:- Current Washington State license to practice as a physical therapist.DESIRED:- Outpatient musculoskeletal PT experience - Pelvic health experience and interestAs an employee you will enjoy generous benefits and work/life programs.
