Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you everthought possible.Position Summary:The Senior Manager, EHS Environment & Product Stewardship is responsible for managing and executing an EHS Environment & Product Stewardship strategy across all Illumina global locations, ensuring compliance with applicable product compliance laws and regulations, effective risk management, and EHS value creation. This individual will drive Environment & Product Stewardship process and improvements throughout all Illumina operations and product lifecycles, as part of a highly innovative and collaborative business model. The Environment & Product Stewardship Senior Manager will serve as Illumina''s subject matter expert on product EHS compliance technical and regulatory needs, operational and guidelines for EHS and business, and Illumina best practices. The Environment & Product Stewardship Senior Manager will be a member of the EHS leadership team, working closely with regional EHS leaders in the development of Illumina global and regional EHS guidelines and standards, including process improvements and enterprise software tools implementation. Responsibilities:Monitor, interpret, and assess existing or emerging EHS environment and product stewardship laws, regulations, regulatory policy, and industry practices, determine operational and business impacts and develop and execute global EHS environment and product stewardship strategies, programs, guidelines, policies, processes, systems, tools, training, best practices, and actions throughout the business and product lifecycle to effectively manage applicable or relevant requirements, while driving the EHS mission, vision and strategy.Lead and drive a process strategy for EHS environment and product stewardship that can leverage and build upon existing processes among the business.Collaborate with Regional EHS teams and across departments to support the implementation of global EHS environment and product stewardship strategies, programs, guidelines, policies, processes, systems, tools, training, best practices, and actions.Develop and translate EHS environment and product stewardship global strategies into long- and short-term objectives via EHS action plans, projects or initiatives that effectively manages EHS compliance and risk mitigation objectives with business objectives, operating plans, capital planning, resource staffing and budgeting.Establish credibility across the organization by effectively partnering and serving as the company subject matter expert regarding multidisciplinary EHS Product Stewardship and Environmental Compliance Programs that support the assessment and control of product stewardship issues arising from varied global product development strategies and operations. Global Product Stewardship Compliance Programs include but are not limited to hazard communication, safety data sheet generation, GHS product labeling, TSCA, REACH and other country-specific chemical registration or restriction standards, dangerous goods, site chemical inventory, hazardous waste management, environmental permits, green chemistry, supplier EHS management, WEEE, and environmental sustainability.Lead and grow a team of professionals responsible for EHS Product Stewardship Programs. Lead a team to achieve strategic goals and objectives.Manages team''s effectiveness to achieve departmental goals through coaching, monitoring, and evaluating performance on a consistent basis.Represent EHS and Product Stewardship as part of the Illumina Product Development Process and product new market entry to design and develop strategies, programs, guidelines, policies, processes, systems, tools, and training, needed to integrate effective EHS risk management and value creation into our product design, development, manufacturing process design, supply chain, and product end-of-life.Educate, inform, and empower product development teams while advising impact of product stewardship on product development strategies.Built process and accountability around required registrations, reporting, notifications, major dossier development (e.g, REACH Authorization), etc. as part of new product development and launch.Lead global strategy, policy, and procedures that drive assessment, prevention and control, and management of air, water, and waste issues and risks arising from Illumina products and operations.Manage and assess enterprise-wide impact of EHS Product Stewardship related activities to ensure lessons learned are realized and shared for future continuous improvement of EHS programs.Support the assessment, selection, design, implementation, and maintenance of the EHS Enterprise Information Management System EHS Product Stewardship programs across all Illumina locations and operations.Develop, measure, analyze and communicate both leading and lagging EHS environment and product stewardship Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and metrics and develop periodic performance reports to business partners. Partner with Operational Excellence team to continuously improve collection and reporting of EHS performance data.Participate in the global audit program that verifies ongoing compliance with global EHS standards as well as local / regional regulatory requirements.Partner with Corporate Social Responsibility program leadership to drive actions, processes, data collection, etc., toward the Illumina Corporate Social Responsibility program strategic initiatives and EHS breakthrough initiatives.Mentors and coaches individual contributors to support skill development and career growth. Coaches others on functional quality and leadership skills.Translates EHS strategies into functional resourcing plans. Assesses candidates and makes hiring decisions in alignment with current and future needs.Participates in design and implementation of department changes to process and structure.Directly engage with customers and commercial partners to understand and support their business drivers.Acts as an ambassador of Illumina''s culture, core, and leadership values.Requirements:A minimum of 12 years of related experience, with 3-6 years of Management experience of EHS Product Stewardship and Environmental policies, standards, programs, or procedures within a company that operates globally, preferably at a Biotech or Life Sciences company.Demonstrated broad technical and global chemical regulatory experience, and able to implement strategy and effectively operate in a matrix organization to progress programs.Proven track record of developing and implementing Product Stewardship strategies and programs across global business unit lines, aligned with compliance requirements, risk profiles and business priorities to drive performance improvement.Strong experience in providing effective Product Stewardship and Environmental regulatory, technical, engineering, management system knowledge and best practices in a global business.EHS Leadership skills that inspire others to desire and achieve EHS excellence.Professional certification preferred: CSP or CIH.Experience with VPP, OHSAS 18001, ISO14001, or 45001 management systems.Strong desire to champion EHS excellence throughout Illumina.Experience with enterprise EHS Product Stewardship software systems design, process, communication, and implementation.
