Element has an opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity to develop your career within a Global TIC business. The primary function of a Mechanical Test Technician is to perform routine mechanical tests of metallic and no-metallic materials. Responsibilities Conducts a variety of tests using established methods, including but not limited to tensile, compression, and impact testing at room, elevated, and subambient temperaturesPrepares test specimens, sets up and adjusts test equipment and records test data, recognizing deviations resulting from equipment malfunctions or observational errorsAnalyzes test results following well-defined methods including the use of mathematical calculations and data reductionsMay use established computerized spreadsheets during data reductionsMay contact clients for the purposes of communicating test resultsMaintain related test equipment, tools, and machinery in good working conditionMaintain test data applicable to established quality control systemsRecord test results and observations for review by Engineers and Project ManagersPerform other duties as assigned Skills / Qualifications Strong detail in following procedures and test protocolsSelf motivated Technician with the ability to multi task, organize, and work under the pressure of a busy commercial mechanical test laboratoryFamiliarity with testing standards (such as ASTM and/or ISO)Familiarity with a recognized Quality Management Systems such as ISO 17025Must have a mechanical aptitude and familiarity with basic hand and power toolsMotivated, proactive individual with good interpersonal skillsAbility to work with co-workers and customersMust have good mathematical knowledge/skillsWell-developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs within the departmentLI-SN1 Diversity Statement At Element, we always take pride in putting our people first.
