Job Description:Full Time and Part Time CDL A DriverPosition Summary and Primary ResponsibilitiesDeliver Party Rental Ltd. goods to customers and clients and assists helpers with the unloading and loading, in the most efficient, safest and professional mannerLoads and/or unloads truck, with PRL equipment assisting the driver s helpersPerform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment Must operate vehicle in the safest possible way, always wearing seat beltWork in adverse weather conditions Must report any mechanical or operation problems with the truckFollow state and local safety regulations and precautionsMaintains DOT log according to state and federal regulations. Completes all necessary paperwork and maintain records Maintains radio or telephone contact with supervisor and or dispatch to receive instructions or be dispatched to new locationPosition blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo for transport Makes use of equipment to load, unload, truckWorks with helper to load and unload truck manually Must deal with dispatchers, loaders, other employees, customer representatives, guards and other personnel at the stops, as a professionalMaintain truck clean insideQualificationsEducationAbility to speak, read and write EnglishExperienceA Minimum of one (1) year of experience driving, straight trucks, cube trucks and vansHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED).Bilingual Spanish and English a plusOther RequirementsAble to work a flexible schedule and as many as 10-12 hours in a day, including any of the shifts (day, evening, night and weekend and/or holidays)Maintain a current Class A or B CDL LicenseInterpersonal SkillsWell developed and proven verbal communication skillsDependable, sense of urgency and demonstrated inclination to exceed daily Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills Able to demonstrate internal and external excellent customer serviceOther SkillsAbility to work in a fast pace ambiguous environmentEssential FunctionsThe ability to predictably and regularly attend work and to be punctual The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkersThe ability to perform several tasks at onceThe ability to follow direction or instructionThe ability to carry push and pull a minimum of 75 lbs. on a regular basisThe ability to walk, stand, reach, kneel squat, climb ladders/stair while carrying PRL equipmentThe ability to sit for extended hoursPhysical RequirementsAbility to carry push and pull a minimum of 50 to 75lbs on a regular basis and/or while assisted by othersWhile performing the job will frequently be required to walk, stand, reach, kneel squat, climb ladders/stair while carrying PRL equipment.Must be able to repeatedly ascend and descend from truck without difficultyAbility to spend extensive time sitting in a traffic jam.A driver must be able to adapt quickly according to the environment and the demands of the job.DisclaimerThis job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
