SHIPPER / LOADER / WAREHOUSE QC -2nd ShiftPremier Company - Weekly Paychecks - Awesome Benefits - Career GrowthAre you a pro at shipping, loading, and building pallets? Do you have manufacturing experience in metal fabrication companies? Do you have an eye for detail?Core days/hours: Monday - Friday 2nd Shift core hours 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm (overtime required as needed)Typical shift: 1:00 PM - 11:00 PMThis position works directly on manufacturing floor with heavy industrial equipment. Rigging and overhead crane experience is a real plus. Familiarity with micrometers and calipers is helpful. Common tasks include loading, shipping, inspecting parts and using a fork lift.Position Summary:Perform a variety of inspection tasks and responsible for the effective and efficient transportation, staging, and loading of parts. Duties include, but are not limited to, inspection of incoming materials, inspections of work-in-process and final product, evaluation of conformance to order specifications, data review and analysis, preparation of inspection reports and general housekeeping, organization of stored parts and pallets. QC/Shipper will work from shop orders, Scot Forge and Customer drawings and specifications, and instructions from Group Leader and Supervisor.Key Responsibilities:Load and position material onto trucks for appropriate weight distribution and maximum utilization of space and in conjunction with driver directions.Unload and distribute material and paperwork to appropriate departmentsBuild special crates and skids for shipping purposes as directedMove material to various machines and departments designated by the shop order or as directedRetrieve material from designated area using various material handling equipment for transportation to the shipping departmentInstall strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand toolsWeigh and record final product using appropriate scaleWeigh, record and dump scrap from machining and saw shop, segregating and placing in correct scrap containersGrind parts as needed to remove burrs, flashing and nubsPrepare any required inspection records/documentation including dimensional reports and customer provided documentation of inspection.Participation in required documented procedure training as required by position and or assignment of supervisorCommunicate with freight company drivers with tact and courtesyPrepare materials for shipment, securing for safe transport and comply with shipping procedures and customer requirementsCheck in outsourced/customer pickup Truck Drivers for load pickups, verifying documentationPerform various quality control function of items before they ship including non-conformance reportsMeasure in-process and final product dimensions against shop orders and drawingsUse measuring instrument and distribute material and paperwork to appropriate departmentsInspect and evaluate products on customer premises or at Scot Forge for customers or customer''s representativesVerify diameters and lengths against specifications using various hand, mechanical, or electronicQualifications: • High School Diploma or GED required • Ability to analyze, interpret and follow both oral and written instructions. • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, analyze situations and conditions, implement solutions and work under deadline pressure. • Must have effective interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all personnel. • Basic computer skills. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Adapt to frequent changes in workload.Will provide on-the-job training for Scot Forge Certification Required for this positionNiton CertificationBrinell Certification(s)Final Inspection CertificationWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements:• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time• Lifting requirements: 65 lbs• Working conditions with exposure to dirt, heat, inclement weather• Significant amount of bending and squatting required.Benefits:We have grown to become a leader in the open-die forging industry by rewarding our most valuable resource... the employee-owners.
