Within the Thermal Systems business group, the Auburn Hills R&D Tech Center focuses on the design and development of Automotive HVAC Systems. The HV Heater Engineer is responsible for the functional performances of the electrical heater in the vehicle system. Your CHALLENGES? You Act as the primary ''developer'' of the components through hands-on interaction with the product. You develop the component to achieve all performance, durability, and reliability targets. You Assemble Technical Requirements for suppliers. Participates in the negotiation and maintenance of the Technical Requirements Document (TRD) with the support of the Program Team. You Originates and develops the analysis methods and test plans for establishing reliability/performance of components and HVAC systems and determines the ability of the product to comply with customer contractual requirements. You Create a Level 2 timing plan to ensure all product development tasks meet the project''s Level 1 timing milestones. Utilizes this plan to manage resources, prioritize tasks, and ensure on-time customer deliveries (For internal and external Customers). You participate in the creation and maintenance by other PTM''s of other master development work plans such as, BOM, DFMA, FMEA''s, build concerns, validation test reports. You analyze and present specification compliance of internal and supplier components You Assemble non-conformance summary to customer requirements You Manage division component strategy to achieve technical demands of customers as well as company standardization efforts. Review corporate component specifications and incorporate global and regional need content. You Maintain component performance and dimensional health charts. You Provide technical expertise for other functions (sales, warranty, plant process, management) You Specify component operating requirements to customer/3rd party control suppliers You Integrate system into vehicle environment You Coordinate development testing needs (component operating interfaces, measurement) Other Duties: You provide mechanical/electrical technical support to Manufacturing, SQA and Quality teams through the implementation of changes to equipment, tooling or methods/processes. You Initiate problem solving activities and provide mechanical/electric/acoustic engineering support should customer/end of line rejects or production problems occur due to design, specification or performance of purchased or internally manufactured systems or components. You assure the proper follow-up and closure of problems using data, Valeo or Customer provided methods and problem solving tools. You Collect and analyze warranty data, in order to provide and implement permanent solutions arising from mechanical/electronics/electric/acoustic problems. You Report functionally to the HVAC Engineering Manager for any Mechanical / Thermal / Thermodynamic / Acoustic issues and/or Enforcement of Engineering Guidelines. Now let''s talk about you! You have a Bachelor''s degree in E.E., or closely-related field You have 5 yrs. exp. automotive components You have good organizational skills - self-motivated, results oriented You have Documenting/communicating test results through presentations/reports internally & with customers You have experience Developing enhancements for advanced engineering projects You have experience Developing/maintaining test plans (DVP&R). You have experience with problem solving and utilization of problem solving tools (e.g. PDCA, QRQC, Fishbone Diagram) You have knowledge of ISO TS 16949 quality systems. You have excellent interpersonal skills You understand High Voltage Safety Join Us!
