Job TitleClosing and Reporting AccountantJob DescriptionThis position will play a key role ensuring GBS (Global Business Services) CHC A2R G/L accounting, closing, and reporting processes are executed timely and accurately.The purpose of this role is to support and execute:Monthly closing and reporting activities as per group timetableTechnical accounting - functional and technical support across A2R processes and systems; drive operational and continuous improvement projectsSupport management, legal and statutory reporting at Group and country levelsA2R Master Data Management servicesAddress operational issues and follow through to resolution in an effective and timely mannerPerform operational KPIs and compliance with CHC policies and guidelinesSupport continuous improvement initiativesGBS Closing and Reporting Accountant reports to the A2R Head of Closing, Reporting & Tax Accounting within the GBS organization and works closely with the Asset, Inventory, Cash & ICO accounting team, North America Senior Accounting Partner, Finance (Finance Performance, Business analysis & controlling, Treasury, Tax, Internal Control), IFSA, Supply Chain, MARCO team, and other GBS (SBS) functions.GBS Closing and Reporting Accountant will support technical process implementation, controls and compliance in all topics related to accounting, closing, and reporting. He/she will be work together with ITS to implement new or existing tools for multiple CHC LEs to ensure operational readiness at CHLOE Day.GBS Closing and Reporting Accountant will play a key project role contributing to GBS process improvements and process standardization.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Deliver G/L accounting, closing, and reporting services to the CHC GBS within the North America perimeterPerform corporate reporting timely in accordance with the monthly closing calendarSupport accounting, process and systems changes operationally and facilitate A2R service deliveryEnsure all automatic postings have been booked, AR & AP sub-ledgers closed, and Balance Sheet and P&L accounts reconciledEnsure all recurring and non-recurring journal entries are properly supported, recorded, and collectedSupport preparation of management, legal and statutory reporting at Group and country levelsPrepare ad-hoc reports and analysisSupport internal and external auditsA2R Master Data Management (PCoA, FA, ICO)Ensure compliance of processes, transactions and reports with CHC/Corporate accounting policies, internal control guidelines and audit/SOX requirements Contribute to A2R Core Model process knowledge relating to G/L monthly closing and reporting servicesPrepare operational KPIs and research execution issuesContribute to the development of process vision, strategy and objectives defined globallySupport development of best practice processesSupport benchmarking activitiesContribute to the implementation of governance policies and proceduresProvide process support to relevant stakeholders as necessaryContribute to the review of ITS support tools and support initiatives to improve/reduce the number of tools as appropriateImprove user experience to perform their job more efficientlyCommunicate with GBS management. Ensure Compliance and Internal Control/ SOX standards are met.REQUIREMENTS:Degree in Accounting / Finance / Economics or equivalent1 - 2 years of experience with consolidation closing and reporting processes/procedures preferably in an international multicultural environmentFunctional knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPsHands on expertise with G/L accounting, closing & reporting processes, and activitiesStrong deductive and analytical skillsHands on knowledge of SAP ERP and other accounting applicationsProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsSupporting internal and external clients in a professional mannerTeam player, able to work collaboratively transversally and with A2R front line teams with an end to end mindsetAttentive to customer needs and feedbackAbility to organize, prioritize and structure the tasksAttention to detail and works with precisionAction oriented, delivery driven, change agentProficiency in Spanish desirableAbout Sanofi Global Business ServicesIn 2021 Sanofi will launch its second Global Business Services organization in support of North America operations.Sanofi is a global pharmaceutical leader providing healthcare solutions in more than 170 countries around the world.
