SummaryJob Summary The Oncology Nurse Navigator is responsible for program development, oversight and coordination of care for assigned oncology patient populations. The navigator works in collaboration with all hospital and oncology service areas, the cancer committee and sub-committees and task forces established to provide effective care planning and provision. The navigator assists patients with appointment coordination and scheduling to facilitate smooth progression of definitive diagnosis and treatment planning; attends patients'' physician appointments, as necessary, ensuring patient understands all aspects of their disease and treatment plan. In addition to patient care duties, the navigator compiles necessary documentation for weekly case presentation at cancer conference, and assists the care team with survivorship care planning process. Job Requirements Education Required: Graduate of an approved nursing program Preferred: Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in nursing, business or health related field Experience Required: Three years clinical experience in oncology or medical/surgical nursing Skills Strong oral and written communication Ability to work a flexible schedule Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and able to develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets Public speaking and grant writing Program development / case management Licensure/Certification/Registration Required: MO RN License Preferred: Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) Additional Information Job Benefits and Perks!
