CommScope Is looking to bring on a Maintenance Technician in our Catawba, NC maintenance department! This role is more technical in nature due to Controls/Automation problem solving and working with a variety of controls equipment. Overview Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of business unit goals and objectives. Work Hours and Schedule: 4x4 Schedule 6:30AM-6:30PM 12-hour shifts (days) Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and repair machine Electro-Mechanical malfunctions using appropriate test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, Laptop computers and PLC interface. Use mechanical equipment including lathes, mills, cutting and welding tools. Be able to work effectively with Automation and Instrumentation devices in support of engineering and control technicians. Troubleshoot equipment Motor and Drive control Issues. Follow All proactive safety measures to include but not limited to NEC, NFPA, and other pertinent safety codes. Ensure safety procedures, such as Lock-Out Tag-Out, are followed at all times Possess extensive knowledge of production systems, including: compound system, air compressors, and pit water system. Strong fundamental understanding of 3 phase electrical systems, machine/motion control systems, electro-mechanical systems, VFD and Servo systems Assist in Developing, coordinating and running ongoing in-house training programs. Support the Parts department by assisting with identifying and maintaining parts used on the equipment and inventory of repair parts and manufacturing supplies Capable of completing project assignments, in a team-based environment, with minimal supervision. Repair and maintain InkJet Printers and automated production equipment. Maintaining program backups as necessary. Maintain calibration records for Diameter control systems. Experience with Beta, Zumbach and Proton a plus Demonstrate sound troubleshooting skills. Maintain PM and records for all plant equipment Read electrical drawings and schematics. Other general facilities and project duties as assigned by supervisor. Education / Experience / Skills: Required: Electrical certification. High School diploma or GED Minimum of 4 years of PLC experience. Preferred: Allen Bradley ControlLogix, Legacy PLC products, SLCPLC5; Siemens S7 PLC. Minimum of 4 years of proven manufacturing experience with PLC''s/HMIs/VFDs controlling process and automation equipment. Minimum of 4 years of technical experience working with AC/DC/VFD drives. Preferred Allen Bradley AC/DC products including Powerflex and Kinetix products. Display good mechanical skills and abilities. Will consider military experience and training in lieu of industrial experience. Valid Driver''s license.
