ResponsibilitiesVenice Family Clinic is a leader in providing comprehensive, high-qualityprimary health care to people in need with compassion, dignity and respect. InNovember 2021, Venice Family Clinic merged with South Bay Family Health Care,uniting more than a century of experience helping patients regardless of theirincome, insurance or immigration status. The organization now has more than 500staff who serve 45,000 people from the Santa Monica Mountains through the SouthBay. We have 17 locations plus two mobile clinics and an expansive streetmedicine program for people experiencing homelessness. Read more about us .The Physician Assistant will be providing medical care to homeless patientsas part of a multidisciplinary IMHT team. This includes attending case conferences and doing street outreach. The clinical home of the physician assistantwill be at Inglewood, where the PA will be providing primary care services to lowincome patients including chronically ill adults, pediatrics, gynecology, andhomeless patients. The PA worksindependently providing assessment, management, and follow-up of patients.QualificationsActive license to practice as a Physician Assistant in California and must possess certification as Certified Physician Assistant through NCCPA -RequiredGraduated from an accredited PA Program- RequiredMaster''s degree in Physician Assistant Program - PreferredBLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association - RequiredAbilityto operate a computer to obtain lab results, log clinic visits, andinput/retrieve data. -RequiredKnowledgeof disease processes and treatments in patients with chronic disease,pediatrics or gynecologic problems. -RequiredDemonstratedability to supervise clinical support staff. -RequiredInterpersonaland communication skills to effectively relate to patients, their families,members of the health care team, and the lay and professional community. -RequiredAbilityto perform patient assessments and take appropriate actions. RequiredSkillin organizing work flow to accomplish Venice Family Clinic objectives. -RequiredSkillin communicating with patients and families in medical Spanish. -RequiredSkillin writing patient notes, progress reports, correspondence, consent forms andother patient materials. -RequiredStrongorganizational skills to create patient treatment plans and work withmultidisciplinary teams. -RequiredAbilityto work independently, set goals and objectives, prioritize work activities. -RequiredAbilityto determine when to function independently and when to request physicianintervention. -RequiredUCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
