Job DetailsJob LocationMcAllen - McAllen, TXDescriptionA pre-sell salesman is very important and basic part of the overall sales process of the pre-sell team and is expected to participate in selling of displays, placement of new products, selling the retailer, manager or back doorman, on accepting a full order. One of the main objectives is to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with each of his accounts, thus allowing him to deliver product to all his accounts in a timely manner. Employee must be a team player and share responsibilities with the team. Employee must communicate and work with other members of the team to ensure customer satisfaction and increase sales. Employees will cooperate with other employees, supervisors and management and perform other duties as requested by supervisor or manager.QualificationsQualifications:Must be licensed and able to drive a motor vehicle. Be licensed by T.A.B.C. to sell alcoholic beverages.Must maintain insurability to operate a company vehicle.Knowledge of basic computer skills. Morning duties:Must perform morning Department of Transportation (DOT) checklist.Report any discrepancies to mechanics before leaving warehouse. Service:Must determine and maintain the proper scheduling of his route to insure timely delivery of product by his salesman/driver and merchandiser.Must determine and maintain proper procedures for stocking and pricing in each account.Maintain good rotation of stock; fill shelves, face and front cold box and hot shelf if one is available during service calls.Sell in and maintain displays with proper P.O.S. materialPay attention to your customer''s needs and suggestions.Thank the customer.Know each customer by name.Balance time spent in each account against the potential of that account.Determine if P.O.S. is in need of repair or replacement and be responsible to see that this is accomplished when necessary.Pre-salesmen are considered to be the direct supervisor for driver-salesman, assistant salesmen and merchandisers that may be assigned to the team.Maintain proper call frequency as prescribed by AB and company procedures.Sales:Have knowledge of all brands and packaging in every account.Pursue any and all distribution opportunities in every account and communicate them to the regional manager.Sell in the best possible pricing for our product whether at regular retail or on promotion and report any pricing discrepancies that you are not able to resolve to the regional manager immediately.Seek out new opportunities in every account (i.e. displays, P.O.S., material or shelf resets)To sell all products and services within the guidelines of company and T.A.B.C. (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) municate with regional manager on out-of-stocks and any other issues that are important to the sales process.Enter all sales into handheld computer units and ensure that the information is downloaded to the computer system each form the night warehouse manager which accounts are most important when loading.Maintain build-to and inventory counts in each account as may be required.Report any pricing or discount discrepancies on his handheld immediately to supervisor.Ensure each customer receives all current promo letters.Encourages each account to pass the allowance onto their customers.Utilize all POS materials available to you.Maintain adequate supplies of POS in vehicle of all brands. Code Dates:Know the shelf life of each of our brands.Know how to read code dates on each of our packages.Utilize code date books when checking codes.Be aware of the current born on date at all times. Product Rotation:Maintain good rotation procedures on the truck servicing your route as well as displays.Check code-dates and rotate product accordingly during every service call.Determine close dated products and arrange for proper movement of product in conjunction with driver/salesman and merchandiser.Report any product complaint to your regional manager as it occurs. Incentive Plans:Participate to the best of your ability in all incentive programs.Submit verification of achievements in a timely pany Objectives:Be supportive of all company objectivesKeep your supervisor and management aware of all competitive activities.Keep good clean attitude towards working environment and customer satisfaction.Participate in all ride-with and team-sell process as requireComplete any required point sheets or other records as assigned by management as accurately as possible and in a timely manner.Physical Demands:Frequent tasks (75%-100% of the day that could last from 6-12 hours depending on the number of cases sold and delivered for that day)Designated accounts for the route may require merchandising to increase sales space. Ability to operate a manual/powered pallet jack or lift product.Ability to operate a two or four wheeled hand-truck.Cases vary in weight from 10-50lbs.This consists of standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, lifting, twisting, stair climbing, reaching/overhead reaching, and shoulder flexion/rotation/abduction/extension.Maintain merchandising standards while rotating products each time in designated accountsThis consists of standing, sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.Moderately frequent tasks (50%-75% of the day that could last from 6-12 hours depending on the number of cases sold and delivered for that day.Presell Salesman makes calls back to his delivery team about placing displays as the product is delivered. Presell Salesman help build displays with the team or could be supervising the display.A display could have as little as 5 cases or as much as 80+ casesThis consists of walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching/overhead reachingTo help unload cases of beer at accounts designated for the route for a specific day. Training RequirementsAt the discretion of management, the employee may be asked to undergo periodic safety training.
