The primary role of this position will be to create/develop/disseminate reports detailing student outcomes from all phases of the UW School of Medicine (UWSOM) MD program. These reports are important for both continuous quality improvement and accreditation. This position also provides research support to the UWSOM Director of Educational Evaluation for ad hoc evaluation projects as needed. A secondary role of this position will be to provide auxiliary support to Division staff managing examinations for students in the MD program.RESPONSIBILITIES:Program Evaluation• Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses related to program evaluation• Assist in the management and maintenance of student databases to generate reports on student outcomes• Perform related duties as requiredTesting Service:• Manage the construction and delivery of computerized assessments for pre-clinical curriculum• Provide support for faculty with test development, including training in test item writing• Perform test and item analyses, providing interpretation of results to faculty and students• Generate reports summarizing the findings of exams for faculty/administrators, including statistical analyses pertaining to validity, reliability, and group differencesMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:• Master''s level degree in Public Health, Educational Psychology, Biostatistics, Statistics, Research Psychology, or related field• Up to 3 months of job-related experienceEquivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:• Ability to independently interpret, analyze and synthesize complex information• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and attention to detail• Demonstrated ability in creating and managing datasets• Demonstrated knowledge of statistical analysis software to clean and analyze quantitative data• Demonstrated problem-solving skills• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written• Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with a team• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software as needed• Ability to handle confidential information responsiblyDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Minimum two years of experience in a related area or equivalent• Experience evaluating higher education programs• Experience with SPSS statistical software• Experience with survey design and survey softwareWORKING CONDITIONS:• The position occasionally requires the employee to work beyond a normal work week (e.g., more than 40 hours a week) and intermittently requires evening and weekend time to meet project deadlines and attend meetings• Hybrid (in-person/remote) work schedule available, subject to approval and based on business needsApplication Process:The application process for UW positions may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
