For more information about the company and its products and services, please visit Job Overview: Candidate will work in HyCO Operations Engineering Support group (OES) based in Linde Plc. Houston, TX. The OES team is responsible for catalyst monitoring/assessments, water treatment systems and general process engineering support for HyCO plants in the North America region. This position offers wide variety of assignments such as: (1) Catalyst modeling and performance assessments; (2) HyCO plant efficiency/performance monitoring, reconciliation, and troubleshooting; (3) Identification of capacity/efficiency improvement projects; (4) Process engineer role for design and implementation of small improvement projects, <$2 MM Capex; (5) Development of plant operations monitoring/troubleshooting tools utilizing process data and support fleet wide implementation. The applicant can get assignments in the above areas depending on the candidate''s level of experience and professional development plan. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Reports to Operations Engineering Support Manager - Support field measurements, performs detailed catalyst activity assessments and performance forecasting - Utilize process/data analysis, process controls and modeling skills to identify performance improvement opportunities and troubleshoot problems in operating HyCO plants - Identify and justify improvements projects, implement, and validate savings - Monitor and analyze plant efficiency for HyCO plants and provide guidance on key operating parameters, assist regional plants in achieving plant efficiency and performance KPI targets - Provide regular technical assistance to other departments within HyCO business including product management, pipeline operating center and business development - Gather information from the field; identify trends; disseminate information regarding known solutions to recurring or common issues REQUIREMENTS: - Must have at least 5 years of experience in process engineer function in operations or engineering in the industrial gas, chemicals, refining/petrochemical and/or steam generation industries - B.S. or higher in Chemical Engineering - Proven ability to assess plant performance and reconcile performance based on process modeling and data - Domestic travel is required (<20%) - Demonstrated ability (or at least working experience) with operation of H2 SMR plant or HyCO plant. - Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills able to work as individual contributor as well as part of the multidisciplinary team. - Demonstrated ability to generate ideas and develop them into improvement projects - Knowledge of process controls and optimization and basic familiarity with instrumentation systems is preferred - Proficient in process modeling using Unisim, AspenPlus or equivalent software package - Prior experience with HyCO plants, Hydrogen and/or Carbon Monoxide, is preferred - Ability to effectively communicate across multiple departments within Linde Plc. such as operations, engineering, business development and R&D At Linde, we strive to create a work environment that treats all employees with respect, supports new thoughts and ideas, encourages growth and development, celebrates our differences, and embraces inclusion.
