Competitive salary commensurate with experience100% Company-paid Health Benefits401(k) Savings and Investment PlanTuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programsAdditional training programs including on the job, online through H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and moreResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policiesReads job order and observes and listens to truck or equipment in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work stalls new ignition systems, aligns front wheels, changes, or recharges batteries, and replaces transmissions, engines, and other parts.Replace enginesExamines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and equipment, and adjustsLubricates and services vehiclesFabricates special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to schematic drawingsCollision repair, sand, prep, and paintCompletes all standard maintenance on trucks and equipment and ensures state inspection requirements are met for cars, trucks, and trailersOther duties as assignedQualificationsRequired Skills, Education, and ExperienceOne-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in diesel mechanics or a related field OR 2 years of related experience and/or trainingEquivalent combinations of education and experience may be consideredClass A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one yearClean driving recordCustomer Service and TeamworkMathematical SkillsCompute rate, ratio, percentDraw and interpret bar graphsAble and willing to work a 2nd shift scheduleAbility to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as neededAbility to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job) Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience4 years of related experience and/or trainingState Inspection licenseExperience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarriesOSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certificationsPhysical DemandsOccasionally required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, climb, balance, and crawlFrequently stoop, crouch, kneel, and use hands to finger, feel, and graspOccasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds Work EnvironmentNoise level is loud at timesRequired to work outdoors in all environments at timesHours regularly exceed 40 per week and 8 per day H&K Group, Inc.s (H&Ks) Hazleton Division (formerly Hazleton Site Contractors) has been a proud member of our heavy civil construction team since 2002.
