Licensed Professional Counselor (Be Well Texas) San Antonio (New (Patient Care School of Medicine 21001938 Requisition Apply for Job Share this Job Sign Up for Job AlertsJ ob Summary: Be Well Texas is an interdisciplinary team committed to reducing the burden of substance use in Texas by expanding equitable access to compassionate, evidence-based treatment and recovery support services. Our programs organize around three pillars: clinical service delivery to provide access to treatment for individuals with substance use disorder; workforce training and technical assistance to improve quality of care; expand our skilled treatment workforce and clinical research into developing cutting-edge treatments and disseminating them into communities. This position will support a Texas-wide effort to expand access to the low barrier, evidence-based treatment for substance use disorder . Responsible for evaluating individual and family needs after receiving a diagnosis and create a custom treatment plan. Provides individual, couples and family therapy to improve mental health and coping skills. Connect families and caregivers to institute and community resources needed to improve quality of life. Job Duties: Evaluates individuals and family''s needs after receiving diagnosis and create a custom treatment plan and provide individual, couples and family therapy to improve mental health and coping skills. Facilitates and leads various therapeutic and support groups for patients and caregivers to develop appropriate coping mechanisms. Develops innovative support and community engaging programs for caregivers and patients to promote mental health and encourage involvement in programs. Coordinates with other Providers, agencies and community resources to provide comprehensive care. Connects families and caregivers to institute and community resources needed to improve quality of life. Performs all other duties as assigned. Education: Master''s degree in Psychology or related degree is required. Experience: Two (2) years of Counseling, Social Work, or related experience is required. Hospital, private practice/office setting, mental health, and substance abuse experience. Ability to independently conduct psycho-social assessments and provide treatment to a wide variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational, and other diverse backgrounds. Knowledge and experience in the use of medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures. Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and data management software. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written; bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Ability to maintain strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information. Additional Licenses and Certifications: State of Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is required. State of Texas Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor is preferred. Additional Information Benefits Overview UT Health San Antonio offers an excellent benefits package for its employees. Employees who work at least 20 hours a week, with an appointment of at least 4.5 months, are eligible for benefits. Two vision plan options that offer either standard or enhanced vision benefits. Life Employees receive $40,000 of group term life insurance and $40,000 of basic accidental death and dismemberment insurance for free, with options to purchase additional employee and dependent coverage for both at group rates. Retirement - Employees are eligible for either the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) or the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP). TRS is a defined benefit retirement plan which UT Health matches employee contributions. ORP is for eligible faculty staff employees. Voluntary retirement programs are also available to invest before- or after-tax dollars with the choice of five quality retirement plan providers. Time Off- A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options: Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire. Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken. Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment. Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each year plus three floating holidays, which can be used anytime during the fiscal year. FSAs- Employees can enroll in flexible spending accounts (FSAs) to set aside money from earnings before taxes for qualifying dependent day care expenses or out-of-pocket health care expenses.
