If you have lived-experience of an individual with intellectual or developmental disabilities, Liberty would love for you to join our team!At Liberty, we strive to make sure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are empowered to live, love, work, learn, play, and pursue their dreams.We are now hiring for multiple part-time ''Advocate Reviewer'' positions - which involve speaking with other people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities about their employment, rights, services planning, community inclusion, choice and health and safety.Your responsibilities will include: Traveling throughout your local community to meet with others who have intellectual or developmental disabilities & their families - in their homes, offices, and other places Having conversations with people about their quality of life and the supports they receive Asking people questions and listening to their answers Helping and encouraging others to advocate for themselves Working side by side with other Liberty Healthcare team membersTo prepare you for this job, you will receive training on the ''National Core Indicators'' which is a survey to determine employment, rights, services planning, community inclusion, choice and health and safety. Skills & Requirements You are a good fit for this position if you have lived experience of an individual with developmental disabilities. You should have experience advocating for yourself and other people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities - which could include participating in a self-advocacy group, being a part of a committee, sitting on the board of an organization, or similar activities.This position requires good communication skills and the ability to form relationships with others.It is helpful if you have flexibility in your weekday daytime schedule - and you should be willing to travel in the community during daytime hours to attend meetings.
