This communications internship is a part-time, paid fall internship. This role requires an energetic, dedicated and detail-oriented team player with a willingness to learn. Depending on skillset, this individual will assist with communications tasks including, but not limited to: writing and editing, research, graphic design, web and social media analytics, social media content, graphic design, media relations, event support, and other communications and administrative support tasks as assigned.Responsibilities: The Communications intern will partner with the Communications Director and Manager and work closely with members of the Strategy and Public Affairs team, to include policy and evaluation/analytics. Help cultivate productive relationships with key media outlets, including reporters, editors, bloggers, and social media influencersAssist with media list building and pitchingCreate design content in Adobe platforms and CanvaAssist with the rollout of a new brand strategy and website RFP processInterview staff, clients, and partners to create impact storiesAssist with drafting press releases, e-newsletters, bios, articles, mailers, blogs, video scripts, etc. to help support the communications strategyAssist with the development of a social media engagement strategy and create content for social media and other channelsEfficiently research industry trends, editorial calendars and gather other relevant information for planning and evaluationExperience and Skills: The ideal candidate is a recent graduate (graduated within the past year) or an undergraduate/graduate student in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, digital filmmaking, digital media, graphic design or a development-related terest in health care is a must, experience in graphic design is preferred.
