Controls Engineer

Trillium Staffing is now seeking a Software Controls Engineer for direct-hire placement! Schedule is 8a-5p w/ possible remote hybrid option, Mon-Fri. Pay is $60-$140K per year. Travel Required: 20% or less. As a Software Controls Engineer you will be responsible for timely and quality completion of automation projects per the customer specifications. You will refine design concepts into practical, manufacturable designs that meet performance, durability, and cost targets. Projects typically have a few month design cycle so you may be managing the technical details on a number of projects, at various stages, at any given time. The software Controls Engineer will write software, debug and be part of the installation team. You must be comfortable interfacing with customers and internal project teams from conception thru release, build, debug and installation. Job duties: -Collection and presentation of key data/information -Reading and understanding technical specifications & data sheets -Calculation checking and vendor drawing reviews -Technical evaluation of bids -Understanding of manufacturing processes -Customer and vendor interfacing -Research and specify components for use as needed. -Research and review compliance requirements. -Preparation of system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics. Qualifications-Ideal qualified candidates will have a minimum of 3-5 years engineering experience in a custom machine environment. -Experience with hardware design, quoting, bills of material, PLC software design in a team based environment is required. -Knowledge of robot and vision programming is desirable. -Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred, but not necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
