Job Summary: The RN works to achieve quality patient care. The RN shall implement the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation as evidenced by documentation in the Patient Care Record, direct observation, and patient evaluations of care. The RN is responsible for patient care and is ultimately accountable to the Medical Nursing Director. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient''s status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient''s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed. May also provide patient care in the Emergency Room as needed. Performance Expectations:Demonstrate technical aptitude for the proper use and operation of equipment you are assigned including but not limited to: telemetry monitors, woundvac, IV infusion pumps, accucheck and defibrillator.Demonstrate ability to complete thorough physical assessment of patients.Demonstrate ability in competency of central line care, IV insertion/care and blood transfusions.Demonstrate the ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.Demonstrate skills to appropriately communicate and interact with patients/families and visitors Education/Skills:Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program required. Work Expereince:One year medical/surgical nursing experience preferred but not required. Certification/Licensure:Required to hold a current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Mississippi. Current ACLS and PALS certification required if providing patient care in the Emergency Room.
