Under direct supervision and using established standards, this individual is responsible for assisting in fire/security/access systems design. Successful applicants will be trained on the fundamentals of Fire alarm systems and how to provide detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, and team. Duties & Responsibilities:Work with Sales, Project Managers, and Technical staff to interpret project specs and drawings, determine system layoutCreate Access Control & Fire Alarm submittal documents and record drawings using AutoCAD and MS Office softwarePerform to a professional standard for accurate, neat, error free work with an emphasis on attention to detailReview individual drawings to ensure completeness and accuracy of work performedUnderstand and utilize company-drafting proceduresActively participate in personal and professional development and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that the company offersPromote a team environment, assisting other Design Engineers and staff with their projectsPerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsMust possess working knowledge and certifications in Drafting Design with an emphasis in 2D AutoCAD. The drafter must have great attention to detail, excellent time management skills, with the ability to learn and take direction. Work in conjunction SSD Systems Engineering Team, Sales & Operations to ensure AHJ code compliance for all low voltage systems. Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure company is meeting customers'' expectations. Requirements:A minimum of 1 year experience in AutoCADAbility to read blueprints and coordinate the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installationStrong written and verbal skillsHighly organized with ability to multi task in a fast paced environmentValid and clean driver''s licenseProficient knowledge and certifications in the use of AutoCADMust demonstrate computer literacy, including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCADMust possess superior interpersonal skills and be a team player
