We are looking for an experienced Backend Services Software Engineer who can partner with product owners, project managers, developers and UI/UX designers, across the organization to deliver the best end-to-end customer experiences, develop in-house automation & tooling to support operations, suggesting smart resolutions, and innovate the tools Disney Streaming uses to manage massively scaled streaming operations world-wide.Please note that this role is open to the NYC, Seattle, and Santa Monica HQs or can be remote. DisneyTech Your success depends upon:â—Your passion about product development, self-driven, highly motivated and you enjoy the independence of managing projects on your ownâ—You care about the customer experience and have experience building services that support consumer facing applicationsâ—Minimum of 5 years of experienceâ—Your ability to be collaborative and enjoy working cross-functionally with other engineers, product managers, and designersâ—Diligence, thoughtfulness, and have great oral and written communication skillsâ—Making wise choices and take smart risks when dealing with ambiguous requirementsâ—Proactivity and ability to move fast or pivot to meet the changing needs of the productâ— Curiosity about emerging technologies and can quickly evaluate and adapt to new technologiesâ—Enjoying problem solving and can use everything from data analysis to command line tools to help you identify and fix issuesBasic Qualifications:â—BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience required.â—Customer-facing experience required.â—REST web API experience requiredâ—Experience with AWS cloud technology required - SNS/SQS/Kinesis/ECS/Lambdaâ—Experience with Event driven systems architectures (reactive design)â—Experience with containerized & serverless applicationsâ— Experience working to support high-performance web-based user interfacesâ—Experience building services using REST, GraphQL, WebSocketsâ—Practical knowledge and relevant experience deploying services in a containerized cloud infrastructureâ—Experience writing unit tests / implementing test driven development processesâ—Experience with languages: Scala (primary), Java, JavaScript, Pythonâ—Experience with storage & cache technologies: DynamoDB, RDBMS, NoSQL, S3, RedisThe pay range for this position in Colorado is $117,752 to $157,960 per year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
