OverviewAll Hospital staff starting after March 15, 2022 will be required to have received, one dose of a single-dose vaccine orat least the first dose of a multiple-dose vaccine series, or have been granted a qualifying exemption, or identified as having atemporary delay as recommended by the CDC prior to providing any care, treatment or other services for the Hospitaland/or its patients. The vaccine will be administered by the Hospital if the new staff member does not provide a validvaccination card.Under supervision, to perform work involving the delivery of direct patient care in the areas of respiratory therapy. Maintains appropriate computer records of services provided.ResponsibilitiesPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)Administers oxygen therapy as ordered.Administers physician prescribed respiratory treatments to patients within their individual registration to practice, including intermittent positive pressure breathing (IPPB), nebulizers, metered dose inhalers, and chest physiotherapy.Operates and maintains non-invasive monitoring systems as ordered, including pulse oximeters, transcutaneous monitors, and oxygen analyzers.Performs deep endotracheal and nasotracheal suction and tracheostomy care per procedure.Performs patient assessments for response to therapy.Sets-up, attaches, operates and manages mechanical ventilators.QualificationsJOB SPECIFICATIONS (Minimum Requirements)KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of respiratory care therapeutics and oxygen therapy and all related equipment. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills. Must demonstrate high level of discretion, integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in activities. Ability to present in pleasant professional manner for effective communications.
