Our Clayton, NC Injectable Finished Products (IFP) facility is a 457,000 square foot aseptic ''fill and finish'' site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. Position Purpose Works closely with Laboratory personnel to support repairs, preventive maintenance & troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation. The specialist will schedule resources as related to third party instrument services. The specialist will be responsible for activities related to BMS & alarm handling. Accountabilities Works in a safe & environmentally responsible way Resource scheduling as related to third party instrument services Accurately & legibly records all activities in appropriate documentation. Writes work orders Reviews documentation for accuracy & completeness Instrument specifications, scheduled maintenance, repair, & troubleshooting Identifies & handles deviations per proper procedures for measuring equipment Supports cross-functional investigations & participates in systematic problems solving Understand & execute GMP & compliance protocols for instrument validation Executes work according to schedule & department plan Evaluates instrument performance & responds to potential issues Contributes to process confirmations Maintains training qualifications on time. Supports training others as required Supports other department roles as needed Other accountabilities as assigned Required Qualifications Demonstrates a high level of organization in task management, as well as logical planning for task execution & follow-up Demonstrates a systematic approach to problem solving & troubleshooting Documents problems thoroughly & accurately & brings them rapidly to solution Desired Qualifications BS/BA degree in chemistry, engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education & experience Minimum of five (5) years of intense laboratory instrumentation experience in the pharmaceutical industry Laboratory instrument maintenance & repair Experience with LIMS & lab automation software, preferably Waters Empower Extensive experience with MS Office products Familiarity with SAP PM module High attention to detail Excellent customer service skills Physical & Other Requirements Occasionally moves equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds within the facility using various body positions Able to do close precision work with hands Able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time Corrected vision to 20/30 & ability to see all colors Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to take samples Occasionally works around odorous and/or hazardous materials Able to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction We commit to an inclusive recruitment process and equality of opportunity for all our job applicants.
