ASAP START NEEDED 0.9 Night Shift with weekends as needed by the unit. 130 Travel rate *** local travel rate*** Specialty Core Competencies/Performance Expectations:Provides care for patients with moderate physiological instability. Uses the nursing process to provide care for the physical and emotional needs of the moderately compromised patient. (Stable dysrhythmias, mild to moderate congestive heart failure, temporary and permanent pacemakers, hypertensive urgency,R/O MI, respiratory instability, fluid and electrolyte balance, glycemic management, neurological impairment solid organ transplant).Collaborates with the patient, family and healthcare team to create a nursing care plan to support the physical, emotional needs of the adult patient.Collaborates with the patient, family and healthcare team to develop and execute a plan of care to address signs and symptom of infection, rejection and immunosuppression therapy.Provides effective and timely patient/family education related to treatment plan.Recognizes and responds to subtle or rapid changes in adult patient itiates timely interventions to prevent, correct, or minimize risks to the patient.Demonstrates ability to perform in a code situation following the ACLS guidelines.Performs advanced monitoring using current technology Safely employs (set-up, utilizes and trouble shoots) the following monitoring devices:o CVP monitoringo Cardiac Monitoringo Stable ventilator patients.Critically evaluates accuracy of data collected.Formulates nursing interventions based on data obtained from patient monitoring.Manages complex medication and infusion therapiesSafely administers the following medications and infusions guided by knowledge of the indications, contraindications, side effects, normal dosages and method of delivery:o Cytotoxico Immunoglobulinso Heparino Immunosuppressantso Fluid and electrolyte replacemento Insulino Blood products (FFP, Platelets, Albumin)o Anitarrhythmic medicationo VasodilatorsTitration of cardiac infusions to maximize cardiovascular function not hemodynamic stability. Dopamine for renal perfusionAdjusts the patient plan of care following the evaluation of patient response to the infusion/medication.Cares for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/ interventions on the unit.Performs the following for the procedures listed below:Educates the patient and family regarding the procedure/ intervention.Prepares the patient emotionally and physically for the procedure/ intervention.Monitors and evaluates the patient throughout the procedure/intervention.Assists other members of the healthcare team during the procedure/intervention.Provides appropriate post procedural care.Demonstrates ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment.Accesses the equipment neededSets-up equipment correctly.Operates equipment according to hospital and manufacturing guidelines.Provides safe care to the patient while using the equipment.Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot the equipment.Identifies informational resources regarding the equipment.Returns equipment to the appropriate location when it is not in use.Identifies malfunctioning equipment and takes appropriate action to ensure the equipment is removed from service.
