Apply to join our team and help shape the future of healthcare!Current Need:Provides research and support activity for internal and external counsel, Senior Legal Specialist and advise company personnel on routine matters. Engages in a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to those calling for judgment and independent initiative.Key Responsibilities:* Analyzes and researches legal issues and business processes;* Displays a general understanding of various levels of risk;* Develops the skills necessary to become a resource for colleagues within the department;* Begins to own specific matters or projects and manages the process from beginning to end, with attorney oversight;* Communicates with internal business partners; and* Works directly under the supervision of an attorney or senior legal specialist.* Maintain internal database, document management and calendaring systems - and advise on process improvements as those systems upgrade;* Open and close litigation and pre-litigation matters, including tracking settlements;* Manage and respond to employment subpoenas, document requests, and other formal requests for information, including analyzing requests, negotiating scope of any response, and obtaining, reviewing and producing documents;* Assist with internal and external reporting on litigation matters; and* Provide assistance with case management, document collections and productions, witness interviews, and investigationsMinimum Requirements:* 2+ Years of relevant experienceCritical Skills:* Strong litigation and case management background.* Ability to be flexible and prioritize.* High competency with Microsoft Office, Office 365, Net Documents or other document management system.* Ideal candidate will have typically 5 years paralegal experience.* Possess great organizational and communication skills.* Proven experience with multi-tasking and partnering well in a group environment.* Demonstrate initiative; Take direction and give input as needed.Additional Knowledge & Skills:* Prefer experience working in pharmaceutical and healthcare regulatory environment or in another highly regulated industry.* Experience working directly with internal client contacts (if at an outside law firm) or working in an in-house environment.* Effective, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.* Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to multitask.* Ability to work effectively with internal and external clients and promote the reputation and integrity of the Law Department and McKesson.Education:* Degree or EquivalentMcKesson is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected Veteran status.Qualified applicants will not be disqualified from consideration for employment based upon criminal history.McKesson is committed to being an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and offers opportunities to all job seekers including job seekers with disabilities.
