Contract, Power BI Engineer (Remote based - NY, NJ, PA)

Job Description Summary: The Contract, Power BI Engineer is responsible for the full systems life cycle management of ''Data'' that supports PTC''s core business processes and the associated data and analytics business. The focus of this role is to collaborate with the business to develop and implement advanced analytics and reporting that drive better and faster decision making, provide insight and analysis and identify opportunities for improvement. The Contract, Power BI Engineer actively participates in BI projects, interfacing with the business, gathering requirements, and building reports and dashboards by leveraging the power platform (Power BI, PowerApps, Microsoft Flow, etc). This role also ensures that long-term solution delivery methodologies are followed and that these methodologies deliver quality, reliability, stability, and completeness of all data-related programs while also meeting financial objectives and the needs of the business. The Contract, Power BI Engineer leverages his/her in-depth technical skills on BI and Analytics applications as well as his/her detailed understanding of corporate functions and business processes to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of this job. He/She adheres to IT standards and processes to develop and implement data solutions that align with executive leadership goals and objectives. The Contract, Power BI Engineer ensures adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements and Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate. Job Description:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Interacts with business owners to understand and recommend reporting/BI solutions that meet diverse, complex business reporting and analytic needs.Designs, build and deploys BI solutions (Reports and Dashboards).Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing data source systems (i.e. Odata feeds, SQL Server, etc) and develops strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.Collaborates in the planning, development, and deployment of new data solutions and evaluates and improves existing data solutions and dashboards.Designs and delivers end-user training and training materials.Provides subject matter expertise for key BI core functions such as: HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, etc.Demonstrates ability to work in a highly dynamic business environment providing direct support to business users.Demonstrates forward thinking and plans ahead for potential roadblocks.Provides an exceptional customer service experience to all internal business owners/users.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), PLM, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) business processes/systems and cloud-based applications, data, security and integration architectures including data warehouse and BI solutions (specifically Power BI).Demonstrated expertise in establishing methodologies and implementing structured ways of analyzing business problems.Demonstrated ability to understand current state business processes and work with business to design efficient and effective business processes - specifically focused on Supply Chain, Finance and HR.Deep understanding of data requirements, and analytical needs.Experience with Front-end DesignEffective verbal and written communication skillsAnalytical thinker with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.Self-motivated, quick learner and with a ''roll up your sleeves'' mindset, ability to lead initiatives involving analytics, ERP, Financial Systems and/or Supply Chain Systems.Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects. * Minimum level of education and years of relevant work experience.
