We set the company''s strategy and technology vision, offer an unparalleled research foundation for innovation, and provide critical support infrastructure for Nokia.What you will learn and contribute toAs a UAV Autonomy Software Co-op, you will be responsible for the development of software that is core to autonomous navigation of our drones. This includes localization (or state estimation), planning, perception, and control algorithms.As part of our team, you will:* Understand requirement specifications, software architectures, and work in agile development cycles.* Design and develop software algorithms for drone autonomy, including localization, planning, perception, control, and collision prevention in complex indoor environments.* Create modular and easily deployable software artifacts using packages and containers.* Develop test plans to verify correct functional behavior in simulation and/or hardware.Your skills and experienceYou have:* Programming experience with C++ and Python including object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.* Strong knowledge, understanding, and prior experience with developing robotics algorithms, coordinate transformations, Robot Operating System (ROS), running simulations (Gazebo), and Linux.* Experience with software version control (git) and comfortable working in an agile and distributed development team (issue reporting, tracking, development sprints, code reviews).It would be nice if you also had:* Experience with OpenCV, PX4, MAVROS, or AirSim.* Experience with development or integration of visual odometry, visual SLAM, sensor fusion, perception, path planning, or control algorithms.* Strong knowledge of software integration and deployment strategies, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes.* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.* Problem-solving skills, self-starter, highly motivated, and team player.Education RecommendationsCurrently a candidate for Master''s degree or diploma in Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline from a leading college/university.Why we''re awesomeNokia offers flexible and hybrid working schemes, continuous learning opportunities, well-being programs to support you mentally and physically, opportunities to join and get supported by employee resource groups, mentoring programs and highly diverse teams with an inclusive culture where people thrive and are pany Culture: We believe our people are our greatest asset and we aim to foster a fun, challenging, positive, and inclusive work environment.
