Senior Director, Employee Relations The Senior Director, Employee Relations will lead a team of ER professionals . Leveraging employee relations expertise and external best practices, this role is responsible for creating, leading, and supporting Splunks employee relations strategy. Focus areas include coaching and training, insights, complaint review and investigation, reviewing practices along with policy development. You will be responsible for providing guidance and support in all matters, including reviewing employee complaints, ensuring thorough and timely investigations conducted with objectivity. The Senior Director of Employee Relations is a working people manager and will collaborate with Employment Counsel, HR Business Partners, Leaders, and other key stakeholders to address issues and provide coaching as needed. The successful candidate will have a strong client service background, an impartial mindset and able to think proactively support the business and react to investigations, providing expert level consultation and guidance in all ER matters. This is a working manager role. The Senior Director will make recommendations and identify breaches of Splunks policies according to globally consistent principles. Key Responsibilities: Develop workplace dispute resolution policies and practices while proactively directing and managing complex ER cases to successful resolution. Communicate, and maintain ER policies and practices, ensuring content is current and relevant. Use a case management system to log cases and use data to gather insights, identify trends and develop strategies to remedy risk. Conduct timely, fair, and equitable investigations into employee complaints and allegations of misconduct, in line with local policies, practices and legal frameworks. Build and maintain a strong partnership with Legal to assess and mitigate risk in support of Splunks culture. And liaise with and advise the HR Business Partners on investigations and areas of concern. Coach and assists managers in developing performance management/corrective action plans. Predict high-impact issues and recommend solutions. An accomplished leader in Employee Relations, able to build strong relationships to enable stakeholders, coaching others, and building a diverse, high performing team. A self-driven professional with a resolution-oriented mindset. Expert in critical thinking, detail oriented and exceptional communication skills. Ability to work with all levels across the organization and making recommendations by going beyond the obvious. Extensive experience in a rapidly scaling business, implementing new approaches and managing employee relations professionals. Required Experience: Bachelor''s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. 15+ years of employee relations, employment legal, investigations, or HR experience, 8+ years of leading a global ER team within a high-growth environment. Solid case management and advisory experience, including hands-on investigations experience. Extensive international employee relations experience and working within technology companies. Sound knowledge of global employment laws and regulations with a high bar for integrity. Strong leadership skills with the ability to frame, confront and present complex issues to varying audiences, influence and make difficult decisions. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to consult, coach and communicate effectively on a variety of situations. Is committed to the highest standards of excellence, confidentiality, and personal integrity. Experience creating and delivering impactful solutions and training focused on how to handle employee relations issues and investigations. Deep understanding of and ability to be impartial, use great judgment, especially when it comes to decisions, confidential documents, and communications.
