Covestro AM, having a strong application focus, develops and manufactures photopolymers for stereo-lithography, DLP& LCD based printers and thermoplastic engineering polymers for extrusion (filament & pellets) and powder sintering technologies. Covestro SOMOSĀ® photopolymers have been well-known in the industry for many years.For our continuing excellence in development of photopolymers for SLA/DLP/LCD printers, we want to add new talent through the role a Product Development this role, the Product Development Scientist will:Develop differentiating photopolymers based on customer design criteria/specifications, defined together with our application development team collaborating with our customers.Ensure quality and consistency of the developed product by adopting and following our project management approach and liaising with disciplines like regulatory affairs, manufacturing, product management, intellectual property management, etc.Maintain and identify future needs in expertise and technology that enable future product development and translate them into technology platform programs to be executed in collaboration with global team members.Liaise with suppliers and internal sourcing on available and suitable raw materials for product development.Align with manufacturing operations and other partners on successful manufacturing route and commercialization of the newly developed products.Create deep understanding of photopolymer printing processes and the consequences of technological development for future products for evolving AM applications.WHAT YOU OFFERMinimum Requirements:PhD in polymer science, photochemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or related science.Preferred Requirements:Proficiency in formulation science, 3D printing and thermal/mechanical testing. Aptitude in intellectual property creation, assessment of patents & external petence with structure-process-property relationships.Prefer 2+ years of experience in R&D and product development of polymers and photopolymers, preferably for 3D printing & additive manufacturing.Strong research background with post-doctoral experience is also preferred.Essential Skills:We require an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, self-motivated, result oriented and persuasive team player.Strong conceptual understanding, proven problem-solving skills based on demonstrated analytical thinking and experimentation with an aptitude for & commitment to project & technical planning.
