We''re seeking a OR/Outpatient Nurse Supervisor to coordinate operating room clinical activities for smooth patient experience and department operation. This person will direct patient care in the operating room and other delegated areas while providing technical clinical leadership in the operating room. A key responsibility of this position will be scheduling, assuring quality care, coordinating outpatient procedures amongst other duties and responsibilities.Additional Responsibilities...Develops and assures a competent staff and oversees the orientation of new staff.Functions as a staff person in this area when needed.Maintains performance improvement activities within assigned areas.Monitors the productivity and financial measures of unit operations.Develops, reviews, and revises policies and procedures for the operating room and other areas as assigned.Responsible for staff schedules, regular meetings, staff evaluations, payroll and time off approvals.Shares responsibility for the nursing unit schedule.Develops and assures a competent staff and oversees the orientation of new staff. Provides for staff education based on identified needs.Mentors new staff directly as well as by modeling appropriate professional behavior and accountability.Maintains a positive and constructive approach to expected and unexpected municates effectively with physicians, co-workers, and other departments to provide consistent care based on the changing physical, medical, and psych-social needs unique to each patient. Cares for patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric.Coordinates and documents facility education for the Nursing, OR, and Central Sterile departments.Coordinates outpatient procedures including Sleep Studies and Pain Clinic procedures. Oversees documentation of charges for outpatient procedures, OR procedures, and others as assigned. Responsible for Nursing, OR, and Outpatient PI.May assume responsibilities of the Director of Nursing in that person''s absence.Responsible for day-to-day functions of Operating room, Central Sterile, and EVS departments including equipment, needs, and education.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired:Candidates must hold an RN license that qualifies them to work as an RN in North Dakota (either an ND RN license or a compact RN license issued in another state)Basic Life Support (BLS).ACLS within one (1) year of hire dateTNCC within one (1) year of hire datePALS within one (1) year of hire dateMust be proficient with computers and computer applications in the healthcare setting.Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.Preferred:Operating room experience preferred.CHI-LI missioncritical
