We provide special mission system design, modification, and operations with emphasis on the development and integration of state-of-the-art EO/IR sensor systems.Job Description:L3Harris Space & Sensors Division is seeking a Material & Production Planning Specialist to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning material requirements and scheduling materials to support manufacturing and program requirements. Other responsibilities will include analyzing data and supplying material status to the organization. Responsible for controlling and managing activities related to inventory control within the stockroom, receiving, shipping, expediting, dock oversite and training. Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures/training material. Troubleshoot and rectify discrepancies and assist Supply Chain with system flow to ensure consistencies in understanding and look for process improvements to that end. Coach and grow staff, able to effectively represent Logistics across segments and effectively interact with managementEssential Functions:* Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle to meet production requirements.* Distributes production schedules or work orders to departments.* Determines personnel or materials requirements or material priorities.* Reviews documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables.* Maintains requisitions and inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.* Arranges for delivery, assembly, and distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.* Advises management of the status of work in progress, coordinates with manufacturing, quality and supply chain. Interfaces external customers, engineering and program management with status of work in progress.* Kitting, cycle count, annual inventory, product put-away and scrap* Provide customer service - interacting with Planners, Buyers, Engineering and Management* Fast paced changing environment* Utilize knowledge of safe material handling practices and ability to maintain compliance with L3Harris specific Environment Health and Safety policy/procedure regarding material handling (ESD, Optics, fragile)* Provide back up for shipping and receiving* Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary* Holds ability to handle items (up to 45 lbs.) utilizing proper lifting techniques and material handling aids (e.g. pallet jacks, height adjustable carts, etc.) and may operate a forklift upon receipt of internal certification* Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped* Examines, stocks, and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing linesQualifications:* Bachelor''s Degree in Operations/Business or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of prior relavant experience; or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience; or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years prior related experience.* Must understand material requirements planning and the interrelationships of configuration, manufacturing, quality and procurement, and materials concepts in the electronics industry.* Strong excel skills and analytical skills are required* Able to handle multiple projects are all a must.* Able to work under general supervision and provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area* Previous basic supervisory experience such as work scheduling, prioritizing, and process execution* Previous experience working in a stockroom, warehouse and/or production environment* Must be a US CitizenPreferred Additional Skills:* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.* Supply Chain Management experience.* Logistics and packaging experience is a plus.* Previous experience with the management of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods is preferred.* Proven experience with monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems
