Find your future with us.Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking several motivated and experienced multi-level Systems Engineers to join our team in the St. Louis, Missouri region. The St. Louis team supports a variety of programs across multiple divisions including Bombers and Fighters, Autonomous Systems, Missile and Weapon Systems and Phantom Works. Our programs are developing some of the most dynamic and technically engaging defense platforms and mission capabilities in the industry. The region is dynamic and growing as we support multiple new product development programs. We are focused on developing top talent in support of critical missions for national defense and delivering unique capability to the warfighter.Supported programs include fighters such as the F/A-18 Super Hornet, EA-18G Growler, F-15 Eagle, F-22 Raptor, and T-7A Red Hawk, autonomous aircraft such as the MQ-25 Stingray and MQ-28 Ghost Bat, weapons such as the JDAM, SDB, MOP, HAAWC, SLAM ER, and Harpoon, and numerous proprietary programs developing the next generation systems.As an experienced systems engineer on a BDS program, you will apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions, while also providing leadership and training to junior teammates. You will work directly with customers to evaluate customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Our experienced systems engineers are responsible to lead and execute the respective program''s systems engineering statement of work using model-based methods, including performing a large variety of analyses to define and optimize the total system design and architecture to ensure mission success.Take the next step in your engineering journey and build upon your career at Boeing!Position Responsibilities: Lead and execute all aspects of Systems Engineering throughout the full program lifecycle (concept definition, design, test, and production), using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodsCoordinate and support interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches to define/plan and lead the implementation of the program''s systems engineering work scope (inclusive of data deliverables) aligned to program milestonesPartner with subject matter experts and technology experts in understanding technology development and integration into current state and future goals for increased functionality, performance, testability, verification, validation, and certificationAnalyze, translate, define and decompose requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs; maintain technical baseline for product requirements/configurationLead and assist with definition of high level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and operational validationUtilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as DOORS, Cameo, and mathematical modeling and simulation to develop system definitions/architectures and perform trade studies (includes integration with interfacing engineering disciplines model based design toolsets)Coordinate and assist with performance analysis to optimize the system architecture to solve complex aircraft system design problemsCoordinate and assist with test and validation to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirementsLead and assist in performing systems analysis of the existing system architecture in conjunction with new technologies and concepts for improvements to be considered for future architecturesLead the development of risk assessments and mitigation plans to comply with system requirements and customer capabilitiesLead and assist in developing, maintaining, and utilizing analysis tools of varied fidelity, including modeling and simulation tools to predict performance against evolving threatsActively participate in mentoring program for systems engineers to learn cross functional skills in systems engineeringDepending on the program assigned, this position may require 100% work on-site (at one of the listed locations) or may allow some telecommuting. Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.)Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience): Bachelor''s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.3 or more years of relevant systems engineering experiencePreferred Qualifications/Desired Skills (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)Experience in technical engineering leadershipExperience in applying engineering processes and principlesExperience modeling or simulating systemsExperience/domain knowledge of system architecture, requirements, interface definition, verification, and validation Experience with product/systems development and integrationExperience with implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules and metrics (i.e. DOORs, CAMEO, earned value management).Technical system domain knowledge (e.g. air vehicle and/or weapons)Current Department of Defense Security ClearanceTypical Education/Experience:Level 3: Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. Bachelor''s degree and typically 5 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a Master''s degree with typically 3 or more years'' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.Typical Education/Experience:Level 4: Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
