Our radiation therapy for cancer makes treatment shorter, safer, personalized and more effective, ultimately enabling patients to live longer, better lives.Job DescriptionSummary:The Electrical Designer is responsible for planning, designing, and developing electronic portions of the company''s products and components in accordance with product requirements. This individual will focus predominantly on the circuit board layout. This individual will also be involved in recommending or selecting processes for the fabrication of electronic designs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Researches, plans, designs, and develops electronic board designs in accordance with product requirements as established from various sources, including engineering and specification documents.* Develops detailed electrical drawings and documentation.* Selects, in conjunction with Purchasing and Regulatory Affairs and Quality, potential suitable component suppliers for the company''s product.* Implements and documents electronic requirements for production. This includes supporting the transfer of relevant design output documents and recommended process instructions.* Supports transfer of product design to production, which includes preparing, investigating, and executing change requests and change authorizations.* Perform circuit board layout activities, including component footprint generation, component database maintenance, component placement, routing, and generation of supporting design documentation.* Provides work breakdowns and estimates of effort for personal project work, in conjunction with the Electrical Engineering Manager and Project Managers.* Supports the Electrical Engineering Manager by evaluating engineering technologies and tools.* Supports product development after design transfer through various enhancement and maintenance efforts.* Works effectively with other engineering staff, subcontractors, and consultants.Qualifications:a. Required:* Associates degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience. Suitable work experience in a technically related field may be considered in lieu of formal education.* At least 5 years of design and development experience in the medical device, electronics, or other relevant manufacturing industry.* Experience with grounding schemes or in circuit board development.* Good verbal and written communications skills* Good computer skills, including the use of standard office software programs including spreadsheets, word-processing, and email applications.* Familiarity with OrCAD and the Cadence tool suite is required* Printed circuit board layout experience is required* Experience with schematic capture is requiredb.
