Our research and development focused client is looking for a Sr. Machine Learning Engineer. This is an opportunity to make an impact on national projects including everything from analyzing power grids to identifying smugglers attempting to bring nuclear materials into the country. Join a group of ninety software engineers using the latest technologies to help solve difficult national security problems. You would help our client design, build, and deploy software systems that leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to solve problems in natural language processing (NLP), computer vision (CV), search, and data analytics. We need innovative problem solvers and have the experience and expertise to bridge the gap between machine learning research and practical, mission-driven, applications. Ideal candidates have a mixture of machine learning expertise and a solid understanding of developing and deploying production software systems. Duties and Responsibilities Translating research prototypes into well-engineered systemsLabeling and feature engineering for novel datasetsFine-tuning of open-source models for CV and NLPAutomation of model training, evaluation, and deployment pipelinesApplying ML models to large datasetsDeploying ML models in the cloud and on edge devicesRe-training to combat data drift and model decayEvaluation and monitoring of model performance in productionIncorporating user feedback to improve model performanceEmploy machine learning expertise to develop and deploy innovative solutions for challenging national security problemsCreate high quality software systems using software engineering best practicesDevelop machine learning software using strong Python programming skillsLeverage problem-solving and design skills to solve challenging technical problemsStay current about developments in industry and academiaInitiate personal direction and goalsPossess interest and/or experience mentoring junior scientists and engineersDemonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environmentBe passionate and self-motivated with good time management skills Minimum Qualifications BS/BA with seven years of experienceMS/MA with five years of experiencePh.D. with three years of experience Preferred Qualifications Degree in computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, or related field6+ years of experience with machine learning algorithms and frameworks with hands-on experience developing and deploying ML models into production6+ years Python development experienceStrong understanding of software engineering best practicesExperience with containers, Docker, Kubernetes, ECSExperience with DevOps and CI/CDExperience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCPActive Federal Q Clearance and ability to maintain such clearance* Selected Benefits Medical, Dental"‹, Vision"‹, Travel Medical and Dental Coverage (including international)Dependent coverage"‹Leave benefits"‹Fertility Support"‹"‹401(k) Plan"‹Health Savings Account"‹"‹Corporate Discounts and Memberships"‹"‹Tuition Reimbursement & Loan Forgiveness"‹ Mandatory Requirements Employees are required to have a COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of employment, subject to accommodation.
