Good news for those who don''t love to be on the road- most of their client-base is located within the Chicagoland area so there is limited long distance travel!As Sr. Network Engineer you will work on various projects pertaining to new deployments, upgrades, infrastructure assessment, and support. The right candidate will be extremely adaptable and must be able to learn new technologies on a whim. Not only will you act as a senior hands-on resource, but you will be the escalation point for more junior engineers on the team. You MUST be comfortable in a customer-facing role and enjoy putting your problem-solving skills to work.Your Responsibilities...Act as SME pertaining to network engineering related issuesAct as escalation point for junior developersBe comfortable working on a variety of projects while continuously providing updates on solution and resolutionHave the ability to interface with various business units, engineering teams, and non-technical teamsManage ticket que and ensure resolution and appropriate updates/follow upFollow documented procedures and ensure compliance with requirements and change control procedureCreate clear and concise documentation; must understand Visio and how to create detailed network diagrams to help drive efficiencyDeliver project tasks on time and within budgetWork closely with managed services to ensure smooth transition to continued supportYour Experience...5+ years providing support, administration and configuration of Routing and Switching (BGP, EIGRP, RIP, HSRP, OSPF)At least 3 years'' experience with the following; virtualization, storage, servers, ADExperience with VPN technology including SSL and IPSec on cisco asa/ftd/Familiar with monitoring tools (network sniffers)Familiar with Cisco PIX/ASA/FTD firewallsUnderstand physical layer troubleshooting (T1/PRI, T3, Ethernet)Networking experience (VoIP, Video, QoS, Virtualization-Cisco MDS, 1000V)Knowledge of Cisco Nexus and Cisco Wireless technologyTravel to client sites within Chicagoland area as neededCCNP or CCIE certification required - provided by Dice
