Select and manage contractors or sub-contractors to complete construction projects. Manage construction documents and other construction information, including project budgets and schedules. Act as representative for the university throughout the construction project process. The general schedule for this position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Department Specific Essential Job Functions: Consults with University administration staff, faculty, and outside professional consultants in delivery of university construction projects. Serves as contact person for clients on specific construction projects, and assists in providing client with project information. Assists in the development of project requirements and drawings for projects. Develops construction drawings, specifications, project budgets, and estimates. Interacts with hired professional design consultants, and acts as Project Manager for various types of projects, and acts as owner''s representative. Assists in observation of major construction projects, and assists in construction administration, of both major and small various types of projects for compliance with plans and specifications. Monitors, schedules, and evaluates proposed construction costs for small project construction, renovations, and modifications projects; provide periodic progress reports on projects. Assist in project documentation in AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, and AES project report listings and updates. Maintains and updates campus standards and guidelines for consultants'' documents. Responsible for quality control checks of construction documentation, including specifications. Performs other related duties as assignedQualificationsQualifications Required: Requires a bachelor''s or master''s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design or related field, and 5+ years of relevant field related experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Requires the application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results.Qualifications Preferred: A current license to practice architecture, engineering or certification as an interior designer in the State of Oklahoma. Experience in higher education. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills and proficiency or ability to learn AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and related computer skills. Knowledge of building technologies of Fire and Life Safety Codes.
