The Amazon Search team, responsible for the one of the largest search engines, creates powerful, customer-focused search solutions and technologies. Whenever a customer visits an Amazon site worldwide and types in a query or browses through product categories, Amazon Search services go to work. We design, develop, and deploy high performance, fault-tolerant systems used by millions of Amazon customers world wide every day. Our team is growing and we are looking for passionate individuals who are motivated to improve customer experience by leveraging techniques like machine learning (ML), and make Amazon Search feel like a trusted friend that can help customers explore our vast selection and find just the right product. We are looking for a strong program managers to lead the execution of two key initiatives for the Search organization. The role is part of the Search Science and Artificial Intelligence team and our vision is to provide the most meaningful shopping experience for anyone and for anything related to shopping. As the Program Manager, you will lead the execution of Search Science team''s new product and program visions to develop key metrics that measure and improve customer experience across the whole search page. To be successful in this role, you will be customer obsessed, have excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, be able to work cross-functionally, drive consensus, and ship solutions. You have had experience working in a high pace environment, are able to move fast, and are comfortable in working in an ambiguous environment. You like to tackle challenging problems and drive high profile projects and goals. In this role, you will work with global teams - both internal to Search, and external partners across entire Amazon to identify and prioritize needs, distil and articulate their needs into requirements for our tech teams, and effectively influence up and across the organization. This is a highly visible role that gives you an opportunity to partner with machine learning scientists, engineers, product managers and leaders to define, identify and measure customer experiences that eventually leads to our customers having a delightful shopping experience at Amazon. This role will help the team focus on programs managing Search initiatives end to end that''ll delight customers in surprising ways. On a day-to-day basis, you''ll be part of a small, close-knit team of applied scientists, engineers and product managers who understand, measure and innovate on customer experiences in an agile, highly collaborative manner. You will invent scalable, end-to-end shopping experiences at Amazon. The outcome of your hard work will be key performance indicators (KPIs) that will be used by teams across the entire company to create delightful shopping experience for our customers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone in a non-tech role looking to eventually transition into a technical program manager or a Product Manager role. Preferred Qualifications: You will have experience working on search engines or some aspect of Search, and/or e-commerce. You have managed projects in a software development environment with high impact, are comfortable presenting projects/program updates to leaders, and managed teams that don''t report directly to you. You understand basics of Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence, and how they are used to solve modern day business problems.
